| July 14-17: Tunkhannock, PA |
|
My wife and I traveled to
Tunkhannock, PA, northwest of Scranton, to attend her family reunion.
We stayed at the Shadowbrook Inn & Resort. The Resort has an 18-hole
golf course and a creek running by the edge of the property. During the
four days there, I did some birding in the mornings and evenings. I
managed to see and photograph 20 species of birds. Birds seen included
Eastern bluebirds, Cardinals. Catbirds, American Goldfinches, Green
Heron, Eastern Kingbirds, Belted Kingfishers, Mallards, Eastern Phoebes,
American Robins, Chipping Sparrows, Song Sparrows, and Red-eyed Vireo.
I only saw one Hawk, in flight and very high, which I was not able to
identify. Other wildlife seen included Gray Squirrels, Chipminks, and a
Muskrat.

the trip. (For a larger view, double click on the desired image.)
