White-tailed Deer -
Odocoileus virginianus |
| White-tailed deer are common throughout all of
Florida. Their name comes from the white underside of its tail, which it
raises like a banner when frightened. They live along the edges of
woodland areas, where they feed on shrubs, bushes, berries, and the bark of
trees. They can grow to be about 4-foot tall and weigh up to 300 pounds.
